Many Colorado High School baseball leagues consist of a combination of 5A/4A/3A teams while others are true to their classification. rules that determine playoff participants and format are found below.
- top 32 teams from each classification based on maxpreps/rpi qualify for the playoffs. Any league champs outside of the top 32 still receive an automatic qualifying spot. Leagues must have at least 5 teams to have an auto-qualifier. If a qualifying league champ does finish outside the top 32 they then bump the lowest seeded out of the playoffs.
- 8 teams with highest rpi host the first weekend, the remaining 24 seeds will then be seeded to one of those host sites to participate in a 1-2 day single elimination tournament. Last team standing advances to the state tournament.
- With 8 teams remaining a 2 week double elimination tournament takes place until the state champ is determined.
