5A Programs

Denver East  HS
Angels(2600)

Coach: Brett Pieratt - 1st season

Returning starters: 5

2024 Record: 9-11

2024 Srs playing at the next level: Cameron Emmons - Augustana College

Players to watch:  Henry O'Rear (SR) C - committed to Mesa Community College, Kaeden Zirlin, Sr. (RHP), Manson Manley (SR) OF, Titus Dokes (JR) RHP/SS, Griffin Guiitz (SR) INF, Ben Gehrig (JR) 1B/ DH

2025 Outlook: There's a new guy in charge at Denver East, as former assistant Brett Pieratt returns to lead the Angels in 2025. Pieratt and company look for their first playoff appearance in 6 seasons behind strong senior leadership and a strong lineup that includes Henry O'Rear. O'rear finished the 2024 campaign hitting .500 at the plate which was tops in the City League and 3rd best in the state for 5A. He is joined by Ben Gehrig, Titus Dokes and Mason Manley who all are coming off quality offensive seasons. On the bump count on Kaden Zirlin to be the teams #1 arm again but who his supporting cast will be is still up in the air. Griffin Guiitz, H. O'rear, T. Dokes and others will have opportunities but Pieratt is hoping younger players step up and play a role both on the mound and at the plate.

Denver North HS
Vikings(1614)

Coach: Ernesto Marquez 18th season

Returning starters: 6

2024 Record: 10-14

2024 Srs playing at the next level: None

Players to watch:  None Committed - â€‹Angel Gallegos (SR) INF, Leonel Ramirez (SR) RHP, Roberto Martinez (JR) INF, Donzio Sanudo (JR) OF, Santana Vital (JR) SS/RHP, Leandro Echevarria (SO) INF

2025 Outlook: Denver North has turned into a consistent playoff squad, making the postseason 11 straight seasons and winning the City League 6 of the last 8 seasons. With 6 starters and others with valuable varsity experience returning expect the Vikings to compete for another league title. 2 way player Santana Vital has all the tools on the mound, at the plate and in the field to be one of the top players in the Denver Metro area and should be a force for the Vikings. He will be teamed with transfer Angel Gallegos who was outstanding last season at Far-Northeast, who cancelled their program. A lineup that was young at times in 2024 return impact players Donzio Sanudo, John Miller, and Leandro Echevarria and all 3 should be better. North can always pitch well and that should be no different this season with S. Vital, A Gallegos, Erik Sigala, Leonel Ramirez and Marc Escobar all seeing innings on the bump. Denver North alumni and Head Coach Ernesto Marquez sets the bar high and with a talented 2025 group this season will be no different.

Denver South HS
Ravens (1802)

Coach: John Rumsey - 2nd season

Returning starters: 5

2024 Record: 12-10

2024 Srs playing at the next level: None

Players to watch:  None Committed - â€‹Leo Royer (JR) C, Johnny Komarowsky (SO) INF/RHP

2025 Outlook: The Ravens posted their most wins in a season since 2022, but gone is their 2 top arms and bats to graduation. However, after a year of varsity success the expectation is the younger players will keep South in contention. Surprise freshman Johnny Komarowsky led the team in HR's, sophomore Leo Royer hit just under .400 and youngster Hunter Vitello picked up 2 wins on the mound and all expect to be bigger, faster and stronger this season. J. Komarowsky and L. Royer hitting in the middle of the order gives opposing pitchers headaches but who is penciled in around them is still unknown. Ricardo Martinez, Henry Schoder and Dylan Coppeck could provide quality support but need to build on last seasons 2024 numbers. The pitching staff is led by both Hunter Vitello and J. Komarowsky's with Brody Pino and D. Coppeck contributing out of the bullpen. A playoff spot would be nice this season but with the Ravens not playing postseason baseball since 2019 all the puzzle pieces will have to fit into place for that to happen.

Montbello  HS
Warriors (1100)

Coach: JC Martinez - 1st season

Returning starters: 2

2024 Record: N/A

2024 Srs playing at the next level: None

Players to watch:  None Committed - â€‹Santiago Nava (SR) SS, Derek Herrera (JR) C, Santiago Rodrigues (JR) P/3B

2025 Outlook: Their are a lot of question marks for Coach Martinez with this being the first year of varsity baseball since the school reopened 3 years ago. He inherits 2 players from Far Northeast with varsity experience but besides that the squad will be very inexperienced. Coach Martinez will look to Santiago Nava, Derek Herrera and Santiago Rodrigues for leadership and to assist in laying a competitive foundation of hard work and positivity that will be around for years to come.

Rangeview  HS
Raiders (2036)

Coach: Chris Hughes - season

Returning starters: 7

2024 Record: 7-15

2024 Srs playing at the next level: None

Players to watch:  None Committed - â€‹Sebastian Heredia-Ruiz (SR) P, Will Stevenson (JR) INF

2025 Outlook: If the Raiders hope to climb above the .500 mark for the first time since 2019, they'll need help from a group of underclassmen that saw lots of varsity playing time in 2024. A team that only graduated 2 seniors and at times had 7 underclassmen on the field will lean heavily on the arm and bat of Sebastian Heredia-Ruiz. S Heredia-Ruiz headlines a staff that returns 5 of the teams top arms including Emmanuel De La Torre Hernandez and Ryan Luevanos. A group that took their bumps and bruises a year ago expects to benefit from the experience and be the backbone of the team. Will Stevenson, RJ Salas, Colten Burch and S. Heredia-Ruiz should be part of an improved offense with 7 of the 9 bats returning but for that to happen growth and maturity will be needed. The climb back to contention is steep but there is plenty of hope for the Raiders if last years youth movement develops.

4A Programs

Thomas Jefferson  HS
Spartans (1312)

Coach: Graham Baughn 8th season

Returning starters: 4

2024 Record: 14-9

2024 Srs playing at the next level: Sloan Steimel - Chapman University

Players to watch:  None Committed - Max Feierstein (SR) RHP/OFJesus Flores-Sanchez (SR) SS/RHP,Noah Klein (SR) OF/RHP, Gunner Walden (SR) LHP/OF, David Villarreal (JR) INF

2025 Outlook: Last year was a disappointing one for the Spartans, who missed out on the playoffs for the first time since 2019. Coach Baughn is excited about the talent the Spartans return, but they will have to rebuild an offense that lost 4 of their top 6 hitters. Max Feierstein is a solid arm on the mound and he will team with Gunner Walden and Jesus Flores-Sanchez to lead a pitching staff that will rely on strike throwing and solid defense to win ball games. J. Flores-Sanchez, Noah Klein and David Villarreal are the teams top returning bats in a lineup that could experience some growing pains early on. Coach Baughn likes his young talent and even with graduation losses he thinks with a good mix of upper classmen and young talent this group is ready to compete for a league title.

Vista Peak HS
Bison(1799)

Coach: Jake Rule 6th season

Returning starters: 6

2024 Record: 16-6

2024 Srs playing at the next level: Brian Herrera - Hastings College

Players to watch:  None Committed - â€‹Brody Brancato (JR) OF/P, Domenic Montoya (JR) C, Abel Salinas (JR) P/1B

2025 Outlook: Despite narrowly missing the playoffs last season Coach Rule believes Vista Peak will take a step forward in 2025 mainly because of experienced veteran players mixed with a strong freshman group. Abel Salinas will be a solid weapon on the mound recording 7 wins, 60 K's and an ERA of 2.07 a year ago, while his battery Domenic Montoya will lead the defense behind the plate. The infield could be young but talented and the offense will be led by Ezra Wise, D. Montoya and Royce Lossman. With only 11 seasons of baseball under their belt Vista Peak has continued to improve each year and Coach Rule is confident a league title and the programs first post season appearance is not out of the question. â€‹
