5A Programs
Arapahoe HS
Warriors(1724)
Coach: Jim Dollaghan - 9th season
Returning starters: 5
2024 Record: 13-11
2024 Srs playing at the next level: Joel Cackowski - Metro State University, Kellan Dreiling - Clark JC, Loic DeRosear - Cuesta JC, Cam Eakin - Fullerton College
Players to watch: Carter Landen (SR) SS, Cain Gostenik (SR) 2B - committed to Adams State, Josh Lew (SR) UTIL/RHP, Gussie Maynard (SR) LHP/1B, Andrew Smart (SR) OF/RHP, Brady Syers (SR) C
2025 Outlook: An experienced team that welcomes back a deep squad is hungry to make an impact in 2025 and Coach Dollaghan is optimistic about their capabilities. Most pitchers are 2 ways which means there is going to be lots of movement throughout the lineup but the Warriors strength lies in their pitching depth and varsity experience. 14 of the potential 22 players will have had varsity experience from last year and 6 of the 13 seniors have multiple years on varsity. This group will possess a strong presence at the plate with contact guys, bat control guys and big fly guys balanced throughout the lineup. Plan on 2 strong RHP leading the way on the mound with 2 LHP out of the bullpen. Andrew Smart will continue to lead Arapahoe at the plate and expect big things from Carter Landen, Cain Gostenik, Josh Lew and Matt Dollaghan. On the mound, Sam Szczukowski and Aaron Stalter should both be outstanding starters.

Cherokee Trail HS
Cougars(2928)
Coach: Jon DiGiorgio - 5th season
Returning starters: 4
2024 Record: 19-9
2024 Srs playing at the next level: Akoi Burton - Garden City JC, Keegan Eberly - Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Braeden Reichert - Scottsdale JC, Logan Reid - University of Houston
Players to watch: Connor Carlson (SR) RHP/1B, Brody Ceyrolles (SR) 2B/C - committed to Sam Mateo JC, Jake Hernandez (SR) 1B/C - committed to St. Scolastica University, Landon Olds (SR) 3B/RHP - committed to Ohlone College, Carter Wilcox (SR) LHP/OF - committed to University of Iowa, Ethin Woltz (SR) RHP/1B - committed to University of New Mexico
2025 Outlook: DiGiorgio has led the Cougars to the state tourney for 3 straight years, including a state runner-up in 2023 but their is definitely retooling to do after a strong senior class has moved on. Cherokee Trail will lean on a strong pitching staff that includes Iowa commit Carter Wilcox and New Mexico commit Ethin Woltz to attempt to make another run this season. Both, plus Connor Carlson had solid junior seasons and look to repeat that success in 2025. At the plate, the Cougars graduated 2 big bats and will be counting on Landon Olds, Brody Ceyrolles and Jake Hernandez to carry the load. B. Ceyrolles not only swings a hot stick but also provides speed on the bases. With a talented core of returning players expect the Cougars to make a run at the always competitive Centennial title along with continues success in the playoffs in 2025.

Cherry Creek HS
Bruins (3803)
Coach: Joe Smith - 1st season
Returning starters: 7
2024 Record: 25-5-1
2024 Srs playing at the next level: Eddie Esquivel - University of San Francisco, Paul Hughes - Miami University (OH), Cam Larson - Wofford College, Will Taylor - Trinity University, Tyler Weston - South Mountain JC, Brayden Yasuzawa - Villanova University
Players to watch: Ryan Brennan (SR) RHP/3B - committed to Monterey Peninsula JC, Owen Elser (SR) OF - committed to Colorado School of Mines, Ryan Falke (SR) RHP - committed to Washington State University, Joel Gibas (SR) OF/RHP - committed to Monterey Peninsula JC, Sean Goldy (SR) SS - committed to University of West Virginia, Sean Klaess (SR) 2B/OF - committed to Pacific University Oregon, Cael Knobbe (SR) RHP/2B - committed to CSU Pueblo, Connor Larkin (SR) 1B/LHP - committed to University of Oklahoma, Eli Rose (SR) C - committed to Fort Hayes State University, Wyatt Rudden (SR) RHP/OF - committed to University of Michigan, Mason Scott (SR) 3B - committed to West Point
2025 Outlook: A fairy tale ending to a legendary 52 year career Coach Marc Johnson hangs up the spikes winning his 9th state title. Filling those big shoes is new Head Coach Joe Smith who inherits 7 starters from that 2024 state championship team and a program that breeds success. The Bruins should once again be one of the top teams in Colorado, and it starts with the return of Mason Scott and COBSBL Pre-season MVP Connor Larkin. Both coming off monster offensive seasons, hitting over .400 and finishing in the top 20 in slugging for Colorado 5A. With sub 2.00 ERA's Wyatt Rudden and Ryan Falke serve as Creek's 1-2 punch on the mound again this season. Each have the ability to light up the radar gun topping 88-90 mph. Graduation did deplete the Bruins bullpen and parts of the batting line-up requiring them to look towards younger or less experienced players to fill those roles. However, options are plentiful in a program that has their sites set on a deep playoff run again this season.

Eaglecrest HS
Raptors (3077)
Coach: Tory Humphrey - 14th season
Returning starters: 7
2024 Record: 13-12
2024 Srs playing at the next level: John Rossi - Southeastern University, Brayden Stufft - Northeastern JC
Players to watch: Blake Anderson (JR) C, Connor Brennan (SR) LHP/1B - committed to Fort Hays State University, Noah Brown (SR) 3B, Braden Elliot (SR) OF/P, Tavish Dey (SR) SS/RHP, Jaxin Mallory (SR) 3B/C, Cosme Vera (SR) OF/RHP - committed to Seward County JC, Landen Holmes (JR) 2B
2025 Outlook: Eaglecrest broke through and not only advanced to the playoffs but picked up their first post season win in over 15 years. The Raptors bring back 7 starters with experience from last season and have worked hard over the off-season. Noah Brown is the top returning offensive weapon hitting over .400 and snagging 19 bags. While, Jaxin Mallory and Landen Holmes showed lots of promise at the plate in 2024 but expect to play bigger roles this season. Cosme Vera, the teams top arm a year ago, is the anchor of a staff that also includes Connor Brennan and L. Holmes. The trio accounted for 12 of the teams 13 wins in 2024. Plan on the Raptors to run and be solid defensively. Coach Humphrey is confident in what he calls, "A Salty Group".

Grandview HS
Wolves (2777)
Coach: Scott Henry - 10th Season
Returning starters: 7
2024 Record: 19-11
2024 Srs playing at the next level: Ben Crandall - Colorado Christian University, Tony Crow - William Jewell College, Easton Flores - Antelope Valley JC, Collin May - University of the Ozarks, Parker Morris - Clark College, Tucker Smock - Kansas City Kansas JC
Players to watch: Chase Chapman (SR) SS, Justin Dean (SR) RHP - committed to Southwestern JC, Nick Martensen (SR) LHP - committed to Kansas City Kansas JC, Jax Pfister (SR) RHP/1B - committed to University of Northern Colorado, Kyler Vaughn (SR) OF - committed to Drury University, Ethan Wachsmann (SR) RHP/OF - committed to Wake Forest University
2025 Outlook: After a Final 4 run last year, the Wolves plan to carry that momentum into the 2025 season. They will lean on a pitching staff that returns Justin Dean, Jax Pfister, Nick Martensen and Ethan Wachsmann who combined for 163 IP in 2024. AJ Maroni led the team in hits as a sophomore and is the catalyst at the top of Grandview's lineup again this season. Chase Chapman, A. Maroni and J. Pfister all hit .350 or better last season and expect nothing less in 2025. The Wolves are deep and plan to use that to their advantage with lots of options and especially late in the game off the bench. The potential starting day lineup may all have varsity experience under their belts and with possibly 11 seniors on the roster Coach Henry's job will have lots of combinations to choose from.

Smoky Hill HS
Buffaloes(2237)
Coach: Eric Askew - 6th season
Returning starters: 5
2024 Record: 5-18
2024 Srs playing at the next level: None
Players to watch: None Committed - Eric Aleman (SR) INF/RHP, Hudson Roth (JR) INF/RHP
2025 Outlook: The Buffaloes are in search of their first playoff appearance sine 2015 with 5 starters and 2 top arms returning. 2 way player Eric Aleman is coming a sophomore season in which he had a sub 2.00 ERA on the bump and was one of the teams top hitters. He will be one of Smoky Hill's top players and his performance will have an impact on how the season goes. Besides A. Aleman look for Hudson Roth to help at the plate and on the mound as well. H. Roth recorded the most IP in 2025 and also was one of the teams top hitters. Keep an eye on players Max Goodrich and Jonathan Fonseca as each received playing time as a freshman and sophomore and should have valuable roles in 2025.

Mullen HS
Mustangs (736)
Coach: Phil Sanford - 4th season
Returning starters: 7
2024 Record: 15-10
2024 Srs playing at the next level: Dom Gamueda - South Mountain JC, Ben Krza - Cal Lutheran University, George Walker - Bakersfield JC
Players to watch: Alex Andrews (SR) RHP - committed to Benedictine College, Thomas Stewart (SR) RHP/SS - committed to University of Virginia, Sam Waller (SR) C, Blake Young (SR) CF - committed to Monterrey Peninsula JC
2025 Outlook: Coach Sanford believes the Mustangs could be on the brink of a big season with the right combination of Senior leadership and a talented young group that saw a good amount of varsity playing time in 2024. A strong pitching staff behind the arms of Alex Andrews, Thomas Stewart and Jayden Salaza also includes 6 returning underclassmen out of the bullpen. Dylan and Gavin Marsh are 2 of those young guns who saw quality innings on the mound and will continue to improve. Offensively, pay attention to the numbers Sam Waller and T. Stewart put up. S. Waller led Mullen in hitting last season while T. Stewart belted 5 HR's. Still, as good as these two can be Mullen's success rides on the development and maturity of last years underclassmen. Henry Christy is one of those guys that struggled a year ago but Coach Sanford has high hopes for him this season.
