This is a new beginning for the team. With a new coaching staff, and so many key Seniors leaving, we don’t know what to expect. However, we have great athletes with a true desire to improve upon the past. We also have a very big FR class that has had a lot of success in club ball in the past couple of years. We are really excited for the future and each year expect to compete more and more.

We expect to compete for the league title this season, and hope to make our first playoff appearance since 2019, after just missing out last year. Team strength is experience, I will have 10 players on the roster who have played varsity innings. However, we do need to replace our two most productive offensive players and our number 1 starting pitcher. Jamison Godfread takes over as our ace, and Jackson Irving will be our biggest all around weapon. I also expect Jr. Lucas Stott to play a major role on the pitching staff this season, along with significant contributions from seniors Max Mazur and Kodiak Welch. At the plate I think senior Travis Wagner will provide some power after being limited by injury last season. Junior Grady Aguirre played his way into the starting lineup last year, and has been working hard to make sure his progression continues. Behind the dish senior catcher Josh Doll continues in the role he first earned as a sophomore. In the outfield junior Noah Smith will have to step up after a breakout sophomore season, especially due to a knee injury to fellow junior outfielder Giovanni Salcido that will keep him out for at least the first half of the season.

Rifle HS
Bears (780)
Coach: Troy Phillips - 30th season
Returning starters: 6
2024 Record: 14-9
2024 Srs playing at the next level: Logan Gross - Colorado Mesa University
Players to watch: Joey Spritzer (SR) OF/P, Josh Wright (SR) C/P - committed to Kentucky Christian University, Ryder Bjurstrom (JR) P, Adan Medina (JR) SS/P/OF, Baden Phillips (JR) 3B/INF/P/OF
2025 Outlook: xxxxx
This season will be a bit of an unknown for a variety of reasons. We lost an incredible player in Logan Gross who threw two perfect games, struck out over 100 batters, and set school records for batting average and on-base average as a hitter. Trying to replace his production will be difficult. How well we do will depend a lot on younger pitchers like Ryder Bjurstrom, Josh Wright, and two or three other pitchers. Our hitting needs to be much improved as that was probably our weakness last year. Players that will likely need to step up and have great years would be Ryder Bjurstrom (pitcher), Josh Wright (catcher, pitcher), Adan Medina (SS, OF), Baden Phillips (3B, 2B, OF, P), Remington Decrow (OF, P), Joey Spritzer (OF, P), Robbie Magnuson (3B, OF), Quentin Kramer (2B)

Summit HS
Tigers(1132)
Coach: Coley Thompkins - 1st season
Returning starters: 3
2024 Record: 12-10
2024 Srs playing at the next level: None
Players to watch: Sam Eldredge (JR) RHP/1B - committed to Cal Poly University, Hogan Tobias (JR)
2025 Outlook: The Tigers, under a new head coach in 2025, just missed out on the playoffs a year ago after consecutive seasons in post-season play. Summit's headliner is COBSBL Pre-season MVP Sam Eldredge, who is a dynamic dual threat on the mound and at the plate. S. Eldredge is a big physical player with a fastball that can reach upper 80's and also swings a big stick at the plate with plenty of pop. With much of the offensive and pitching production gone after graduation expect Hogan Tobias and Gus Bradford to provide a spark to the Tiger offense while JoJo Gambino and Austin Cole help on the bump. Competing for a league championship and return to the playoffs is the goal and with S. Eldredge on the field the Tigers should be in the thick of the hunt but how the supporting cast performs could make or break 2025 for Summit.
