Evergreen    HS
Cougars (1117)

Coach: John Lipka - 5th Season

Returning starters: 4
2021 Record: 14-6

2021 Srs playing at the next level: Nick Vilims -
Mesa JC, George Hogan - Trinidad State JC, Thomas Schreffler - Mesa JC

Players to watch: Carson King (SR) SS/RHP - committed to Cornell College, Dylan Schiro (SR) MIF - committed to Cornell College, Jack Hogan (JR) OF/RHP, Justin Lipka (JR) C/OF

2022 Outlook: The 2021 team had their 5th straight postseason appearance that ended with a trip to the state tournament. They were one of the most explosive offensive teams in the state finishing with the most homeruns in Jeffco 4A and 3rd most in the state. The graduation of G. Hogan, T. Schreffler and N. Vilims will hurt and the Cougars are looking for Carson King (SR) and Jack Hogan (SR) to fill those very large shoes offensively and on the mound. The 2022 team will continue to be very competitive and fundamentally sound with players like Justin Lipka (JR) returning behind the plate and Dylan Schiro (SR) being asked to play a bigger role at the plate.

A pitching staff that finished with the 2nd best ERA in Jeffco and top ten in the state have both Anders Page-Roth (SR) and Laif Palmer (JR) returning. Together, responsible for 7 of the 10 team wins in 2021 and also combining for 82 strikeouts on the bump. Noah Wicks (JR) returns behind the plate and will be hitting somewhere in the middle of the lineup after leading the team in batting average as a sophomore. The question mark will be if any returning players or underclassmen l
ike Toby Trujillo (SR), Connor Brankin (SR) and Charlie Coors (SR) will be able to step up and fill holes left by 2021 graduates. Wild cards will be RHP Ethan Lewis (SR) who returns from a year off of HS baseball and numerous transfers.

Returning All- conference players Dylan Hearn (SR) and Caton Lodice (SR) are expected again to play a big role this season both offensively and defensively. Caton Lodice, driving in the second most runs in the league last season and top 15 in the state. Gators (1345)

Coach: David Luongo - 1st season

Returning starters: 5
2021 Record:11-5

2021 Srs playing at the next level: Jake Worm -

Players to watch: Avery Gaurmer (SR) C, Logan Schmidt (SR) 1B/P, Camp DeWyse (SR) IF/P, Cannon Frost (JR) OF/P - committed to Univ. of South Carolina - Aiken

2022 Outlook: First year coach David Luongo will inherit a group of Gators that put up tremendous offensive numbers in 2021. Finishing 6th in state in Avg, 9th in SBs, 9th in HRs and 5th in RBIs. The good news is most of that core will return this coming season including preseason MVP Cannon Frost (JR) and Camp Dewyse (SR). Frost was one of the states top offensive individuals finishing in the top 10 in Avg., HRs and RBIs while also logging the most innings pitched on the team. All as just a sophomore. He will team with strong senior leadership that includes C. Dewyse who will also provide punch at the plate and speed on the base paths. This strong core of players should provide a positive environment for the younger players. The Gator family is excited about the 2022 season and is looking to build on the success from the 2021 season.

Devon Zurcher (SR) and Cian Phillips (JR) will provide solid leadership along with contributing on the mound while a young supporting cast could make the difference. With solid defense and strike throwers never count the Farmers out of any game.
