2023
Outlook: First year coach Tony Garcia will look for a youth movement in 2023 to help replace the big hole Brian Luna leaves behind after graduating and moving on to college baseball. Sophomores Ivan Baca (SO) and Devontez Glover (SO) will be expected to help in all facets of the game after playing as Freshman a year ago. This group will be out to prove that they can compete in the competitive Jeffco 4A league in 2023.

Conifer    HS
Lobos (873)

Coach: Spencer Hamilton - 2nd Season

Returning starters: 8

2022 Record: 13-10

2022 Srs playing at the next level: None

Players to
watch: None committed - Aodhan Linehan (SR) 3B/P, Liam O’Connor (SR) SS/P

2023 Outlook: A league title could be tough as Jeffco 4A can be one of the best 4A baseball leagues in the state, but the Lobos aren't going to let that stop them. Returning the teams top 6 arms and 8 players that hit over .300 Coach Hamilton believes this group of guys can make some noise in both league play and the playoffs. Aodhan Linehan (SR) and Liam O,Connor (SR) should carry the load on the mound while Liam Pfrommer-Pease (SR) is coming off an over .400 season and is expected to set the pace offensively. If all the pieces fit, the Lobos 3 year drought of playoff baseball could be coming to an end this season.

Jaguars   (631)

Coach: Dan Porreco - 28
th Season

Returning starters: 6

2022 Record: 19-10

2022 Srs playing at the next level: Troy Benko -
Mesa JC

Players to watch: Colin Kim (SR) SS - committed to Colo. 2022 Outlook: How does D'Evelyn follow up back-to-back storybook seasons, finishing in the final four both times. Well, the goal is to make a push to win the whole thing in 2023. Tate Aurich (SR) returns as one of the top pitchers in 4A baseball, notching 7 wins in 2022 and striking out 80. While preseason MVP, Colin Kim (SR) hit .494 with 4 HRs and will be the offensive catalyst again this season. Both were 2nd team All-State in 2022. Surrounding these two will be brothers Heath (SR) and Kannon Perry (SR), Jack McMann (SR) and Gabe Rodriguez (SR) to complete a potent offensive lineup. The only question mark is who will step up and fill the shoes of departed RHP Troy Benko.

Wheat Ridge   HS
Farmers (1179)

Coach: Jaret Hack - 1st season

Returning starters: 4
2022 Record: 5-18

2022 Srs playing at the next level:
None

Players to watch: Cian Phillips (SR) SS/P

2023 Outlook: Adam Miller departs as skipper after 21 seasons at the helm and first year coach Jaret Hack takes over. Hack will have his work cut out for him but the expectation is to compete and create a foundation for the future. Coach Hack believes the Farmers will play strong defense along with being able to put the ball in play offensively. Areas of concern are pitching depth
but expect Cian Phillips (SR) to have a big role at SS and on the mound.

Evergreen    HS
Cougars (1096)

Coach: John Lipka - 6
th Season

Returning starters: 6

2022 Record: 13-11

2022 Srs playing at the next level: Carson King -
Cornell College

Players to watch: Augie Webre (SR) RF/2B/P, Justin Lipka (SR) C/OF - committed to Fort Hays State Univ.

2023 Outlook: Catcher Justin Lipka (SR) .406, 9 2B, 2 HR in 2022 will be expected to be the battery mate to a pitching staff that lost 3 of their 4 top arms to graduation. A lot of this teams success will be dependent on how much they can get out of the new guys on the mound. A fundamentally sound team that expects to be better balanced 1-9 in the line-up with: Augie Weber (SR), Grayson Richmond (SR), Steven Hartmere (SR) and Jackson Hastings in the OF; Cooper Mardosz (SR), Cash Mardosz (SR), Ryan Cook (JR), Cole Larsen and Jack Teska rounding out the infield.

Golden    HS
Demons (1372)

Coach: Jackie McBroom - 8th Season

Returning starters: 8
2022
 Record: 21-6

2022 Srs playing at the next level: Ethan Lewis -
Yale Univ., Charlie Coors - Emerson College

Players to watch: Hayden Carbone (SR) OF, Jaydon Hord (SR) 3B - committed to Santa Barbara JC, Noah Wicks (SR) C/RHP - committed to Hutch JCLaif Palmer (JR) RHP/OF - committed to Oregon State Univ., Xavier Nuss (SR) OF

2023 Outlook: After a heartbreaking early departure from last years state playoffs the Demons return 8 starters, are motivated and believe they have unfinished business in 2023. The teams strength will be on the mound with Laif Palmer (SR) anchoring a deep group of arms. While, at the plate, Jaydon Hord (SR), Hayden Carbone (SR), Xavier Nuss (SR) and Noah Wicks (SR) are all back from an offense that hit over .300, had 20+ HRS and stole 100+ bases last season. How far of a push this team makes in 2023 will come down to how bad they want it and how hard they are willing to work for it.

Green Mtn.    HS
Rams   (1124)

Coach: Cory Miller
 - 1st season

Returning starters: 6
2022 Record: 14-10

2022 Srs playing at the next level: Dylan Hearn - Scottsdale JC, Caton Lodice - CSU Pueblo

Players to watch: Donovan Baca (SR) OF/P, Jacob Barmore (SR) C/1B, Jon Lord (JR) INF/P

2023 Outlook: First year coach Cory Miller inherits a team that played playoff baseball a year ago and he is now ready to jump-start them into being league contenders. The Rams are year in and year out a strong team offensively and with last years playoff appearance Miller believes that experience could translate into a strong 2023. The challenge will be how deep the pitching staff is this season. Jackson Prosser (JR), Craig Busse (JR) and Demetrius Padilla (SO) all return but will be expected to play
a bigger role on the mound for the Rams to have a shot at a league championship and back-to-back playoff appearances.

Littleton    HS
Lions (1242)

Coach: Jeff Thomas - 2nd
 season

Returning starters: 3

2022 Record: 3-19

2022 Srs playing at the next level:
None

Players to watch: None committed - Christian Calonder (SR) INF, Kyle Hisamoto (SR) 2B/P, Seth Keoppel (SR) SS, Ryan Land (SR) OF/P, Tate Redding (SR) OF/P, Madix Sanchez (SR) LHP, Reid Kinzie (JR) 3B, Peyton Brooks (SO) OF/P

2023 Outlook: The Lions hope to rebound from a disappointing 2022 with the return of 3
seniors who missed the entire 2022 season due to injuries. The pitching staff will be led by Tate Redding (SR), Madix Sanchez (SR) and Ryan Land (SR). The infield defensively looks to be solid with the return of Seth Keoppel (SR), Christian Calonder (SR), Kyle Hisamoto (SR), and the addition of Reid Kinzie (JR) at 3B. Outfield will likely be the strength of the Lions in 2023 with Ryan Land (SR) moving to CF, Tate Redding (SR) in LF and Madix Sanchez (SR) and an exciting underclassmen Peyton Brooks (SO) platooning in RF.

Pomona   HS
Panthers (1317)

Coach: Tyler Collins - 2nd
 season

Returning starters: 2
2022 Record:7-16

2022 Srs playing at the next level: Andrew Bowman - Oklahoma Central Bowman, Tyler Killion - Iowa Lakes JC

Players to watch: Brady Navalany (SR) SS, Dante Philip-Neri (SR) P/1B

2023 Outlook: Pomona will compete in Jeffco 4A after spending years in the 5A classification and begin by building from the ground up with just 2 returning starters from 2022. They hope to find their identity early in the season but realize it can sometimes be a process that takes time. They have a handful of arms that fill up the zone and a sure handed infield bolstered by Brady Navalany (SR). Losing their top 6 arms from a year ago make it a challenge and will rely on pitchers Dante Philip Neri (SR) and Dalton Hanson (JR) to eat up innings.

Standley Lake   HS
Gators (1318)

Coach: David Luongo - 2nd
 season

Returning starters: 6
2022 Record:12-11

2022 Srs playing at the next level: Logan Schmidt - Adams State Univ.

Players to watch: Cannon Frost (SR) OF/P - committed to Univ. of South Carolina - Aiken, Brody Geist (Jr) OF/Utility

2023 Outlook: With year number 1 under Coach Luongo's belt he expects to compete in all 23 games this season. To do that the Gators will lean on Cannon Frost (SR) for both leadership and game performance. When not playing CF and hitting in the middle of the lineup for Standley Lake Frost will also carry the load on the mound along with teammate Ian Rasmussen (SR). Offensively, Colton Martin (SR), Hayden Falland (SR), Orlando Otero (SR), speedy Brody Geist (JR) and Christopher Blanco (SO) are expected to have productive seasons at the plate. However, t
he contribution from the underclassmen could be the deciding factor on whether these Gators sink or swim in 2023.
