4A Programs
Elizabeth HS
Cardinals (700)
Coach: Andrew Melton - 5th Season
Returning starters: 6
2021 Record: 12-5
2021 Srs playing at the next level: Nick Spidel - Colorado School of Mines, Sage Ferguson - Northeastern Colorado JC
Players to watch: Jace Perez (SR) OF/RHP, Joe Saunders (SR) UTIL, Tristan Walker (SR) 1B/3B - committed to Dakota Wesleyan Univ., Tyler Robinson (SR) MIF, Jason Weber (JR) UTIL, Zach Tyler (JR) UTIL
2022 Outlook: Elizabeth last won a league championship in 2018 and have not advanced passed the first round of the playoffs in over 15 years. However, with the core of the lineup returning, Coach Melton believes this group could change all that. The Cardinals strength will be solid defense and the ability to produce runs but will need to revamp the pitching staff with the loss of RHP Sage Ferguson and Nick Spidel to graduation. If Jace Perez (SR), Zach Tyler (JR) and Jason Weber (JR) are able to contribute positive innings on the mound along with a few under classmen stepping up those goals are possible.
Falcon HS
Falcons (1200)
Coach: Brandon Stegman - 3rd Season
Returning starters: 5
2021 Record: 13-2
2021 Srs playing at the next level: Gavin Schmidt - Northeastern Colorado JC, Nate Moorehead - Adams State Univ., Slay Sanger - Northeastern Colorado JC
Players to watch: Mason Hamlin (SR) 3B/SS - committed to Ottawa University, Nolan Adamski (SR) 1B - committed to Colby JC, Zach Howe (SR) C - committed to Adams State Univ., Zach Mcculloch (SR) OF - committed to Northeastern Colorado JC, Nico Petrocelli (JR) 2B/RHP, Chase Kessler (SO) SS/RHP, Isiah Sadorus (SO) OF/LHP, David Ada (FR) 3B/P
2022 Outlook: The Falcons look to repeat as conference champions in 2022 but have some big shoes to fill with the loss of a strong senior class. Returning are 5 starters and a talented group of underclassmen that the program looks to build around.
Isaiah Sadorus (SO) will look to fill the number one spot on the mound followed by Davis Ada (FR) and Nico Petrocelli (JR).
Offensively they will lean on Mason Hamlin (SR), Zach Howe (SR), Zach Mcculloch (SR) and Nolan Adamski (SR). The younger guys Sadorus, Kessler, and Ada will most definitely have a great chance to step in and be everyday contributors.
