Arapahoe HS
Warriors (2158)

Coach: James Dollaghan - 6th season

Returning starters: 5
2021 Record: 7-9

2021 Srs playing at the next level: Chris Albee -
Green River JC, Drew Salyers - Univ. of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Garrett Dykstra - Garden City JC, Grant Declue - Western Nebraska JC, Troon Eakin - Orange Coast JC, Will Sevier - Scottsdale JC

Players to watch:  Easton Marks (SR) CF/RHP - committed to Univ. of Nevada Reno, Presley Monteforte (SR) LHP, Quinn Kulesa (SR) CF/LHP,
Graydon Pytlinski (JR) LHP, Camaran Eakin (SO) SS/RHP, Joel Cackowski (SO) 1B/RHP

2022 Outlook: Coach Dollaghan is excited about the 2022 season and what the future holds for the Warriors. They’ll be young but baseball instincts and confidence will make up for lack of Varsity experience. Strengths will be offense and quality defense with Easton Marks (SR) as a vital part of the seasons success anchoring down the outfield, middle of the lineup and playing a role on the mound along with Presley Monteforte (SR). Monteforte’s competitiveness  and command of 3 pitches keeps the team in every game he pitches. Sophomores, Cam Eakin and Joel Cackowski have a high ceiling as underclassmen but could be difference makers in 2022.

2022 Outlook: The baseball tradition at Cherokee Trail is rich and successful and that should continue in 2022. The Cougars will rely on hitting and speed with Nick Barber (SR), Brett Barber (SR) and Kaelen Bing (SR) returning with a combined 40+ stolen bases a year ago. Tyler Wilcox (SR) will also be an asset in the lineup and on the mound but there are still question marks as to who else will complete the pitching staff. Bowen Tabola (JR) played last season on varsity as a sophomore and is expected to provide some leadership and be a standout over the next two years.

Kyle Barkley (SR) and Tommy Marsh (JR) will lead the way offensively for a lineup that returns 6 starters. While Codi Trebelhorn (SR), Will Routh (SR) and T. Marsh will carry the workload again this season on the mound. C. Trebelhorn will remain the

Eaglecrest HS
Raptors (3064)

Coach: Tory Humphrey - 11th season

Returning starters: 4
2021 Record: 6-10

2021 Srs playing at the next level:  Michael Cahill -
Otero JC

Players to watch: Brayden Mann (SR) INF/P - committed to Culver Stockton College, Brayden McCullough (SR) P - committed to Missouri  Western State Univ., Jackson Bryant (SR) SS - committed to Missouri Western State Univ., Logan Glueckert (SR) - committed to Moberly Area JC,  OF, Brayden Harbin (JR) INF, Brayden Stuft (SO) C, John Rossi (SO) OF

2022 Outlook: The Raptors expect to contend for a playoff spot in 2022 with a team built around speed and solid defense. Humphries enters his 11th season leading the Raptors and graduated most of his starters from a group that went 6-10 overall and finished 6th in league. However, he is excited about what this new group of guys are capable of. Logan Glueckert (SR) is back after a solid offensive junior season and looks for support from both Jackson Bryant (SR) and Brayden Mann (SR) in the middle of the order. Brayden McCollough (SR) is penciled in as the top arm on the mound but Anthony Hernandez (SR) and Taylor Dooley (SR) will be utilized as well. Eaglecrest has the talent but how will they compete in the highly competitive Centennial.

Grandview HS
Wolves (2781)

Coach: Scott Henry - 7th season

Returning starters: 8
2021 Record: 11-7

2021 Srs playing at the next level:   Mason Odegard -
Western Nebraska JC, Ryan DePew - Iowa Western JC, Thomas Minckler - Trine University, Ty Chapman - Northern Oklahoma College

Players to watch: Aiden Biaggi (SR) RHP - committed to Colordo Mesa Univ., Austin Yi (SR) C - committed to MidAmerica Nazarene Univ., Bradley Marshall (SR) MIF/OF, Devin Halvorson (SR) 1B/INF - committed to Carroll College, Hayden Boushele - committed to Augustana College, Kohl Rullo (SR) 3B/RHP, Matt Klaess (SR) MIF, Reese Chapman (SR) OF - committed to Univ. of Tennessee, Chase Dahir (JR) RHP/OF

2022 Outlook: The wolves will look to build on their success from last year with 8 returning starters and 10 players with varsity experience. Offensively the team should be more explosive and continue to create havic on the bases. In 2021, Grandview led the state in stolen bases and both Reese Chapman (SR) and Matt Klaess (SR) return nabbing 15+ each a year ago. R. Chapman and M. Klaess are also the offensive heartbeat with solid bats and team leadership. Aiden Biaggi (SR) will be asked to carry the load on the mound but for the wolves to contend a 2nd arm will have to emerge from a group of inexperienced varsity pitchers.

Mullen HS
Mustangs (852)

Coach: Phil Stanford - 1st season

Returning starters: 8
2021 Record: 14-4

2021 Srs playing at the next level:
None

Players to watch: Andrew Brady (SR) SS/3B - committed to Colorado School of Mines, Henry Shellhorn (SR) P - committed to Mesa JC, Henry Stewart (SR) OF/LHP - committed to Univ. of California - Santa Clara, Owen Marsh (SR) 1B/P - committed to Univ. of St. Thomas, Trevor Moore (SR) MIF/RHP - committed to Stanford University, Sage Hurley (JR) MIF, Ben Krza (SO) C

2022 Outlook: The Mustangs will be under new leadership in 2022 as Phil Stanford takes over. Stanford will look to keep the momentum going as Mullen looks to repeat as Centennial League Champs. The team returns 8 starters and arguably the best all-around HS baseball player in the state, Trevor Moore. Trevor Moore (SR), Andrew Brady (SR) and Henry Stewart (SR) are the key cogs for the offense that led the league in average and HRs. On the mound 4 returning pitchers have signed to play college baseball T. Moore, H. Stewart, Henry Shellhorn (SR) and Owen March (SR) which should be the team’s strength. Youngsters, Sage Hurley (JR) and Ben Krza (SO) also could contribute this season after maturing over the off-season.

overland HS
Trailbalzers (2366)

Coach: Mike Bega - 2nd season

Returning starters: 4
2021 Record: 1-15

2021 Srs playing at the next level:
None

Players to watch: None committed - Ayuba Mensah (SR) 2B/OF, Danny Bejarano (SR) C/RHP, Jacob McNeley (SR) 1B/LHP, Connor Bass (JR) SS, Connor Geiss (JR) LF/LHP, Niko Gonzales (JR) - CF, Liam Childs (SO) 3B/C

2022 Outlook: Coach Bega and the Trailblazers struggled last year but still showed positive gains under his leadership. They will be young this season and the goal is to compete for 7 innings and play fundamentally sound baseball. Returning starters and team leaders Jacob McNeley (SR) and Daniel Bejarano (SR) will play key roles in helping build a strong foundation for the talented underclassmen moving forward. Overland has seen its struggles over the years but with the mixture of senior leadership and young talent Bega believes there will be improvement.

Smoky Hill HS
Buffaloes (2156)

Coach: Eric Askew - 3rd season

Returning starters: 6
2021 Record: 3-13

2021 Srs playing at the next level: Kaelor Fogo -
College of the Desert

Players to watch: Aaron Elgersma (SR) LHP/OF - committed to Hastings College, Aiden Henry (SR) 2B/RHP - committed to Hastings College, Ben Zimmer (SR) RHP, Joe McDermott (SR) 3B, Isaiah Seppelt (JR) SS, Gavin McKown (JR) OF/RHP, Jackson Van Luit (JR) C, Jordan Flanders (JR) CF/RHP

2022 Outlook: The Buffaloes stumbled to their worst season in 10 years, but Askew expects improvement despite playing in one of the states toughest leagues. Aiden Henry (SR) and Jackson Van Luit (JR) return to lead the offense along with speedy AJ Hudson (SR) creating chaos on the base paths. Lefty Aaron Elgersma (SR) and Ben Zimmer (SR) carried the load on the mound last season and will be expected to do so again this year. Isaiah Seppelt (JR) showed promise as an underclassmen MIF in 2021 and could help offensively this year as well.
