Pueblo Centennial  HS
Bulldogs (841)

Coach: Joe Vigil - 8th season

Returning starters: 6

2024 Record: 5-17

2024 Srs playing at the next level: Josh Lucero - Otero JC

Players to watch:  None Committed - â€‹Landen Lenn (JR) P/INF/OF; Bryson Byrd (JR) P/INF; Robert Garcia (JR) P/OF; Brayden Villegas (SO) C/Inf

2025 Outlook: The Bulldogs stumbled to just 5 wins in the South Central, as they had up to 7 underclassmen on the field at times that took some lumps. These youngster now have a year of varsity experience under their belts and believe they can double their win total from last season. The pitching staff returns its top 4 arms headlined by senior Jack Espinoza; 42 IP 46K in 2024. Two way players Landen Lenn, Robert Garcia and Bryson Byrd will assist on the mound while also supplying a large majority of the offense. With talents L. Lenn and R. Garcia plus Freshman sensation Brayden Villegas from a year ago penciled in the middle of the lineup Centennial looks to be an improved more well rounded team.  â€‹

Wildcats (956)

Coach: Devean Johnson - 2nd season

Returning starters: 4

2024 Record: 16-9

2024 Srs playing at the next level: None

Players to watch: Colton Calderon (SR) SS/3B/P - committed to Otero JC; Anthony Trujillo (SR) 3B/1B/P; Jordan Arguello (JR)UTL/P

2025 Outlook: The Wildcats just missed out on the state tourney a year ago, losing to eventual state champs Holy Family by 1 run in the playoffs. With 4 starters returning the 2025 campaign will be a mixture of experience and youth. All 3 returners Colten Calderon, Anthony Trujillo and Jordan Arguello have shown the ability to be a threat on the mound and at the plate but now Coach Johnson will need them to step up and be leaders for the younger guys.

These less experienced players had a little taste of varsity baseball last season but for the Wildcats to get over the hump a big step forward is needed by a talented younger group.

Pueblo County  HS
Hornets (1224)

Coach: Matt Eades - 8th season

Returning starters: 4

2024 Record: 24-7

2024 Srs playing at the next level: Parker Hankins - Arizona Christian Univ.Roy Higinbotham - Garden City JC; Caulin Pighetti - Northeastern JC; Donovan Walsh - Otero JC

Players to watch:  None Committed - â€‹Cohen Glenn (SR) CF/P; Julian Reyes (SR) OF/P; Patrick Noga (Sr) 3B; JJ Barger (JR) P/1B

2025 Outlook: The Hornets went to the brink of a title last year, and Eades says the expectations are still high despite the graduation losses. County welcomes back CF and COBSBL Preseason MVP Cohen Glenn who will lead the way offensively and on the mound. C. Glenn has a special mix of power and speed; belting 11 2Bs, 2 3Bs, 2 HRs while stealing 15 bags. Julian Reyes and Patrick Noga are key returners offensively and defensively in the field while JJ Barger is expected to be the teams #1 arm on the mound. Last season the Hornets posted the most wins in a season in over 20 years and their 7th straight playoff appearance but 2025 starts with defending the always competitive South Central league title.

Pueblo East  HS
Eagles (1001)

Coach: Nick Marfitano - 10th season

Returning starters: 7

2024 Record: 16-8

2024 Srs playing at the next level: None

Players to watch:  None Committed - Jayden Rangel (SR) OF; David Casillas (JR) INF/P; Aron Ruiz (JR) LHP/RF/1B; Javen Sisneros (JR) INF/P; Jacob Vondersmith (JR) OF

2025 Outlook: The Eagles expect to take a big step forward in 2025. Pueblo East will feature one of the most experienced teams in the South Central with 7-8 starters returning. They took second in league and were one run away from the state tourney with 11 Sophomores seeing varsity playing time. The pitching staff is deep and strong led by David Casillas coming off a 6 win season followed by Javen Sisneros, Aron Ruiz and Micah Herring. D. Casillas and A. Ruiz also are the teams top 2 returning bats. Both hit over .400 a year ago with good speed on the bases. The top of the lineup will also feature Jacob Vondersmith and Jeremiah Ortega who were part of the youth movement last season. Each can swing it at the plate and create chaos on the bases. With coach Marfitano entering his 10th season he is confident with good health and fortune this group has a shot at both a league title and punching their ticket to a state tourney.

Pueblo South  HS
Colts (1023)

Coach: Kevin Ortiz - 3rd season

Returning starters: 7

2024 Record: 8-14

2024 Srs playing at the next level: None

Players to watch:  None Committed - â€‹Andrew Nolasco (SR) 3B/RHP; Aiden Teschner (SR) INF/OF; Caeden Herrera (JR) RHP/SS; Camron Montoya (JR) RHP/INF; Kade Ortiz (JR) C/OF;

2025 Outlook: The Colts had some growing pains, but with 7 starters returning, better days are ahead for Pueblo South. Look for the Colts to be good on the mound with the return of Caeden Herrera, Andrew Nolasco, and Camron Montoya. The 3 veteran arms pitched 70% of the teams innings last season recording 6 of their 8 wins. A. Nolasco also leads the attack on the offensive side with the help of Kade Ortiz, Aiden Teschner and Caeden Herrera. After a year of varsity experience at the plate this group will cut down on strikeouts and increase their offensive production creating a more potent attack. Mix in varsity newcomer MJ Molina to provide depth on the mound and help solidify the team defensively and things begin to take shape. The season has promise and Coach Ortiz is excited for this group of guys and the start of the 2025 season.
